Stow station update

The new station at Stow is progressing well and is starting to look the part. Most of the major structural work has been completed with surface finishing and fixtures the last thing to be completed. The approaches to the new footbridge are just about complete, with work concentrating on things like handrails. It is absolutely incredible just how much steel-work is being installed at the station to meet all the modern health and safety criteria. The track-bed through the area looks complete with signals installed and working and gradient boards fitted.

  1. It’s quite a transformation. Railway>ruin>house>railway. I think they could have done a better job with the waiting ‘rooms’. At least with the old ‘greenhouse’ on the down platform you could close the door. The prospect of waiting in an open bus shelter in winter is…chilling.
