Borders Railway Project: Gorebridge to Newtongrange

After something of a break we continue the journey north along the new railway. This sections picks up at Gorebridge and covers the line along to the site of the new station at Newtongrange. The section of line starts to see the transition from rural railway to what was industrial, but now suburban landscape. The section includes one of the key new structures to be built along the railway where the line crosses the A7 at Gore Glen, just north of Gorebridge. The section ends at the site of the Newtongrange station which is located alongside Lady Victoria Pit, which was a principle source of traffic for the old Waverley line.
