Sunday 15th June

A good weekend at Whitrope with a good number of volunteers on site and a steady flow of visitors.

Worked progressed on a number of fronts. Peter and Tom continued there work in the cab of the Fowler on Saturday with most of the floor area now painted and looking very tidy. Davie was up on the Sunday welding some of the side doors for the Fowler so they are now ready for painting then going back onto the locomotive.

More prep work was done in the bay platform area, with a number of sleepers drilled and base-plates attached ready for rails. We have plant arriving on Wednesday for a week which should hopefully see all of the ground-works completed in the bay platform area.

Tony was up to drop of the permanent way equipment collect during the week, thanks to the 77021 locomotive group for support with this.  The compressor for the Fowler was collected on the same trip and this is now on site and should soon be ready for installing into the Fowler.
