9538 Goes for a Spin

In readiness for June’s “Big Shunt”, Mark 2f BSO #9538 has been dragged north and now resides on the station side of the Golden Bridge. Railbus RB004 demonstrated its pulling power by shunting the coach using a bar coupling and air pipe extensions. A couple of runs up to the station were made to properly free- up the brakes.

Elsewhere on site, rubbing down and priming of the tubular post bracket signal is underway, with steel for a new base to be ordered shortly. This signal will be re-erected at the south end of the platform as the Whitrope Up Starter, hopefully at some point over the summer.
