Signalling Comes to Whitrope

We’re pleased to announce that Network Rail have agreed to gift us two semaphore signals from Dunblane. The first, a lovely lattice post “gallows” signal, currently on Dunblane’s Up platform, will become our Up Starter at Whitrope, going in roughly opposite the south end of our platform. The second, a LMS tubular post with bracket currently on the Down line just south of the old A9 bridge, will become our Down Starter, going in between the station platform and the level crossing.

Although they’ll be purely “decorative” in the meantime, one day they’ll find themselves worked by a new-build Whitrope Siding signalbox. We hope to receive further signals from another location on the old “Scottish Central” later in the year.

We again thank NR for their kind donation and all their help.

  3. It doesn’t seem so long ago when it there was just an old track bed, now look at it.
    Well done to all involved.

  4. Nice to hear this. Hope to see it soon.

  5. Interesting and exciting times…
